Row 2: Half double crochet in same stitch as turning chain 2 and in each half double crochet remaining. Just ignore the chain 2 when you come to it, same as the hat. Repeat row 2 until you have a total of 20 rows. Turn your piece and working across the end of the rows, single crochet in the end of each half double crochet row. Now working in the one side of the bootie, half double crochet in the next 13 stitches continue around the other side of the bootie half double crochet in next 13 stitches on the other side.

The back of the bootie will be open. Join by slip stitching around the beginning chain 2. Round Two of Top: Half double crochet around front of next half double crochet, half double crochet around back of next half double crochet, repeat this pattern to end of round, slip stitch around beginning chain 2. Round Three of top: Repeat round two.

End off. Sew up the heel seam. Either crochet a length of yarn to fit around bootie or use a ribbon. Thread this through the first round of the bootie top and tie. F or Ties: Chain 50, slip stitch to middle stitch at the ankle on back of slipper, chain 52 stitches, cut yarn and pull it through the last chain. My crochet version is 20 stitches by 22 rows. Crochet in the back loop through out to create the ridge. Slip stitch beginning row and ending row together. Using the end of yarn weave each end in and out of the ends of the rows of the edge it is attached to.

Pull them tight. Now pull one yarn end through the scrubbie and tie in a tight knot. Pull both ends back through to the other side and knot again. I simply pull the end to the inside of the scrubbie and back out, making sure to leave a length of tail on the inside I cut. I don't try to weave the ends through the stitches themselves. I have been using some of my scrubbies since February and no ends have popped out yet. On my earliest scrubbies I left the yarn tails long enough to crochet a chain to hang them with.

I find I don't use the hanger so I don't do that any more, but you could! These boots look like this. The width is not important because the boot is very stretchy, and if it is still too tight at the top, it can be folded down. Chain 47 Heel: Row 1: Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and each remaining chain, chain 1 and turn. Toe: Row 1: Working in back loop single, crochet in same stitch as slip stitch and in next 7 stitches, working in both loops single crochet in next 6 stitches, working in back loops single crochet in next 8 stitches, chain 1 and turn.

I prefer the latter but it doesn't really matter which method you use. You can work the toe part in the round like this slipper if you want, just decrease as instructed. You also have a seam to sew up the back. Make tie. I will include the instructions for this soon. A small amount of fiber fill and large eye yarn needle.
